The planners and panelist delivered a comprehensive program that touched on the topics relating to the future of Westchester and Fairfield counties. The panelists came from a variety of business disciplines in the commercial real estate and included Jeremy Leventhal, managing partner - Faros Properties; John Barnes, senior vice president and managing director - Suburban Division of Reckson, a Division of SL Green Realty Corp.; Brett Wilderman, principal - Forstone Capital; Alex Argento, senior vice president and director of operations - Vidaris, Inc.; Jeff Newman, executive vice president - Malkin Properties; and Jose Cruz, senior managing director - Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. Steve Kirn, partner NE Construction - McGladrey, was the moderator.

Most agreed the region was on an upward trend and expressed optimism about the future, but cautioned Fairfield and Westchester were still “tenant’s markets.” They believe building amenities and proximity to transportation would continue to be driving factors in a company’s decision to relocate their headquarters or set up a satellite office outside of New York City and developers need to take that into account when planning new investments.

“The team at Vidaris is very optimistic about the future of the Westchester and Fairfield markets,” said panelist Alex Argento, its senior vice president and director of operations, according to a prepared statement. “The resources that are currently being invested in new construction and major renovation projects will pave the way for sustainable growth in the future.”

Many who attended said the format provided excellent opportunities to spend time with friends and business associates while making valuable, new connections.

“This year’s event was as successful as last year if not more so,” said Bisnow Business Manager Miles Bloom i a prepared statement. “Our panelists were very forthcoming in their responses and the audience appreciated the breadth of their experience and honest perspectives on the commercial real estate market.”

Bisnow’s next New York-area event, “NY, Residence of the Future,” will take place July 30 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan. Tickets are $64 and can be purchased through Bisnow at http://www.bisnow.com/events.php. For more information, call 646-258-1258.
