The initial plan for the central fire station called for several businesses in the Crossroads Shopping Center to be moved elsewhere, but the plan eventually settled upon by Peekskill officials singled out Pacchiana’s business, according to The Examiner, which reported that the new $11.9 million firehouse will house five of city’s six volunteer fire companies.
Pacchiana, a Cortlandt resident, fought the forced move for as long as possible and bought himself time to plan, but on Friday, his time ran out, according to The Examiner, which reported that the liquor store owner has moved to a smaller space in a less central location.
Still, the business owner remains optimistic that Panio Wines and Liquors, which is open seven days a week and has a loyal following, will continue to thrive, according to The Examiner.
