Peekskill BID Announces Board Of Directors

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill Business Improvement District, has announced the results of the election of its board of directors and officers for 2016.

Elected to the board are Frank Pugliese, representing property owners, and Roya Zarrehparvar, representing tenants in commercial spaces. Pugliese owns One N. Division St. and is a career fireman and contractor. Zarrehparvar is the proprietor of The Coop, an antique and collectibles shop housed in the Flat Iron Building. 

Louie Lanza, owner of 23 S. Division St. and The Hudson Room, and Giovanni Stiefelmann, owner of 987 Main St. were both re-elected to the board. At its March meeting, Lanza was re-elected President; Monica Flaherty of The Flatz Properties at 1008 Main St. was re-elected Vice President; Roya Zarrehparvar, was elected Secretary; and Stiefelmann was re-elected Treasurer. 

“Downtown Peekskill continues to attract interest from developers, investors and entrepreneurs. With our concentration of art, food and culture, we are known as a place where you can enjoy great dining, entertainment and art in a setting that's not found anywhere else along the Hudson River,” said Bill Powers, Executive Director of the Peekskill Business Improvement District. “Together, we can build on our successes and assets and enhance the quality of life for property owners, residents, employees and businesses within the BID. A vibrant, healthy, thriving downtown benefits everyone in the entire City of Peekskill. We invite everyone to enjoy everything Peekskill has to offer." 

The following representatives were elected last year and will continue to serve on the Board of Directors: Gabriel Arango, Jr., Iron Vine; Sunny Cover, The Peekskill Coffee House; Deb Milone, Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce. Three board positions are appointed by the City of Peekskill: Jim Pinto, Economic Development Director, City of Peekskill; Kathleen Talbot, City of Peekskill Common Council Member and a representative from the Comptroller's office.
