Minor Menu Change Requires Major Planning For McDonald's

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- McDonald's recently announced it will make the change to chicken products made from birds raised without antibiotics, but even slight shifts in the menu are arduous tasks for the fast food giant, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The biggest hurdle for the restaurant chain with more than 14,000 locations in the U.S. alone is finding a food supplier that can provide enough product, The Wall Street Journal said. 

The challenge becomes even greater after finding a supplier when McDonald's has to figure out how to market the new product to the masses. Everything from labeling to packaging will have to undergo changes, The Wall Street Journal reported.
