Facebook Instant Articles Are Living Up To Their Name

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Facebook's recently launched "instant articles" appears to be doing exactly what it claims, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Facebook's new Instant Articles are loading faster than routing to a website's homepage.

The new feature, designed to load news articles from publishers faster than rerouting to their own website, appears to actually download nearly instantly, while routing to the website homepage took an average of 3.66 seconds, WSJ reported.

Part of the speed up is due to "pre-loading" of articles and advertisements in an effort to reduce disruption of access to the content, WSJ said.
