Miles joins a diverse array of executives and business leaders from Westchester County, whose experiences and backgrounds encompass a variety of fields, including real estate, finance, law, health care, communications, non-profits, professional sports, and pharmaceuticals as well as many of Westchester’s Fortune 500 Companies. The College has held a seat on the Board for more than 15 years.

"In joining The BCW’s Board, Miles brings a distinguished and unique background that will complement and help guide the membership organization in its ongoing mission of advocating for businesses and helping them grow,"said Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of The Business Council.

“Dr. Miles is a passionate advocate for education and for supporting students through high-quality academics,” Gordon said. “As president of one of Westchester County’s most vital educational institutions, and its most affordable, she is at the forefront of training our business community’s next generation of workers and leaders. We are pleased to welcome her to the Board and eager to tap her expertise.”

Miles was appointed President of Westchester Community College in November by The State University of New York Board of Trustees and started the position in January 2015. Prior to that, Miles was provost and executive vice president of Access, Learning, and Success at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), a position she held since 2011. While there, Miles had oversight of four campuses and multiple extension sites in Cleveland and surrounding suburbs. The institution annually serves 48,000 students in a wide scope of career and transfer degree programs.

“The Business Council and Westchester Community College have a long and distinguished history of working together, particularly in areas of education and workforce development,” Miles said. “I am pleased to continue this tradition and build on it as both The Business Council and The College embark on important and exciting endeavors together.”
